Neat late 1800s/early 1900s 14k Yellow Gold Hand Engraved Thimble Bell Pendant
Presented is an interesting 14 karat gold pendant, dating to around the late
1800s or early 1900s and likely of American make. The piece is made in the form
of a thimble, or rather it was a thimble converted to a pendant/bell,
beautifully hand engraved with grape cluster and grape leaf decoration. The
front of the thimble has a cartouche with the initials HPA in flowing script.
The interior of the thimble has a little clapper so it is also a bell.
bottom edge, perhaps where a dangle or drop was put on. The details of the
thimble itself are nice and crisp.
The pendant is not stamped or hallmarked, but we have tested it with nitric
acid and guarantee it to be 14 karat gold..
The pendant measures about 1 1/4 inches long including the bail, or about 1
The pendant weighs 6.1 grams.
