Presented is an English covered gravy tureen dish in a Chinese-style. This piece was likely made in the 1820s-1830s and displays a Nanking pattern. The dish displays great landscape scenes of buildings and foliage along a river across the lid and around the exterior of the base. These scenes are flanked with boar head motif handles on sides surmounted with foliate motif handle on lid. The lid has a notch for a ladle.
The underside of the piece is marked “Nankin Stone China”.
The piece is in great overall condition. There is a hairline crack off of the notch in the lid that goes on about 2 inches. This crack is minor. There is no crazing. There are no breaks and no repairs.
Measurements: 7 inches from handle to handle, 4 3/4 inches wide, and 5 inches tall with lid -kc
