Presented is a gorgeous English 18K gold and ruby ring. The ring is topped with five rubies prong set in white gold or platinum and wreathed in a beautifully textured 18K yellow gold mounting. The rubies are really nice stones with great color. The stones have a much more vibrant color than our photos can show. The center ruby measures approximately 4 millimeters, while the four rubies around the outside are about 3 millimeters. The ring is solid 18K gold. The ring is very well made and has good weight for its size.
The ring is hallmarked on the inside of the band with the crown and the 18 for English 18K gold, the anchor for the city of Birmingham, the date letter “W” for 1971, and a maker’s mark of C.L.M. The ring is also marked with 18CT and a serial number which you often find on higher end jewelry. We have tested the ring with nitric acid and guarantee it to be 18K gold.
The condition is excellent. The rubies are very securely mounted. There are no chips, no cracks, no splits, no breaks, and no repairs.
