Presented is a small beautiful Chinese Rose Mandarian/ Medallion covered dish and underplate from the mid-1800s. The piece is done in a classic oval form, with a matching lid. The underplate and dish shows hand painted genre scenes and colorful designs of birds, butterflies, and flowers in great detail. The rim of the dish, the finial, and some details of the painting displays wonderful gilding.
This piece is in excellent overall condition. The lid fits well. There are a few minor chips on the edge of the underplate, visible in the first photo. There are no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs.

Underplate: 5 7/8 inches long and 4 3/4 inches wide
Dish: 5 1/2 inches long, 4 1/4 inches wide, and 2 1/2 inches tall with lid -kc
