Lovely Vintage 15ct Citrine 14k Yellow Gold Filigree Brooch

Presented is a fabulous 14 karat gold and citrine brooch/pendant. This piece dates to around the 1950s, and is certainly of continental European origin, probably Italian specifically. The brooch is set with a round faceted citrine of about 15 carats in size. This is a gorgeous lemon yellow stone with wonderful depth and clarity. The setting is done in lovely open work, with an ornate scroll and bead border. The brooch has a clasp with a safety mechanism as well as a retractable bail, so it can be worn as either a pendant or brooch.

The brooch is in great condition. The clasp and retractable bail function well. There is a short chain hanging from a ring on the back, perhaps a safety mechanism at one point in time, which could easily be removed. There are no breaks and no repairs.

This piece has been nitric acid tested and is guaranteed 14 karat gold. There are also two stamps or hallmarks which we unfortunately cannot identify.

The brooch is about 1 3/4 inches long.

This piece weighs 13.1 grams.
