Presented is a lovely antique 14 karat gold and porcelain miniature portrait brooch. This dates to the late 1800s. The portrait depicts a lovely young woman with her hair done up and set with flowers, wearing a vivid red dress and looking back over one shoulder. The background of the portrait is likewise quite colorful, done in greens and reds and yellows. The frame has a classical rope twist design. The pin has a old C style clasp.
The pin is in great overall condition. The portrait has a couple of minor abrasions, please let the photos guide your judgment. There are no chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs. The clasp functions well and closes securely.
The pin is not stamped or hallmarked, but we have tested it with nitric acid and guarantee it to be 14 karat gold.
The pin measures about 1 7/8 by 1 ½ inches.
