Lovely Antique Sterling Silver American Brilliant Period Cut Glass 5" Bowl Dish
Regular price
$269.00
Presented is an elegant antique sterling silver and American Brilliant Period cut glass bowl or dish. This piece dates to the first quarter of the 1900s. The sterling silver rim is the work of Redlich & Co, and features a very detailed and well done design of flowers and foliate scrollwork. The bowl is heavy weight, high quality glass, finely cut with a vertical ribbed design and a hobstar on the bottom. The glass is unsigned, but the quality suggests a high end maker like Hawkes, Tuthill, Dorflinger, etc.
This piece is in excellent condition. The glass has some tiny nicks and one very small chip to the high points of the cutting, but nothing that is easy to notice without picking the piece up and inspecting it closely. The underside has some shelf wear, as you'd expect. The silver is in great shape, with no splits, no dents, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
This piece is stamped sterling, a product number, 5 inches, and a partially obscured maker's mark for Redlich.
The bowl measures about 5 inches in diameter and stands about 1 3/4 inches at the highest point.
This piece weighs 423 grams or 14.9 regular ounces. -jm
