Presented is a lovely American Victorian 14 karat gold, enamel and seed pearl pin or pendant. The pin is done in a six lobed or petaled shape, with an applied wreath design around a quatrefoil shape in the center. The center has four natural seed pearls, around an X shape in black enamel. Around the rim of the pin is a design in black and white enamel, with fine hand engraving at the very edge. The pin has an old C style clasp, as well as a loop where the piece could be hung from a cord or chain, or have a pendant/charm attached.
This piece is in good overall condition. There is a chip to the black enamel X in the center of the pin. The pearls have some surface wear. There are some minor dents around the back edge, which are not visible from the front.
This piece is not stamped or hallmarked, but we have tested it with nitric acid and guarantee it to be 14 karat gold.
The pin is about 1 inch in diameter.
The pin weighs 7.0 grams.
