Presented is a wonderful antique intaglio cut glass bowl, with underplate or saucer, likely of American or possibly English make. The bowl and saucer are beautifully cut in a diamond pattern, with etched roses around the border and center. The roses are rendered in an appealing and intricate style, complete with buds in various stages of opening, interwoven stems and leaves, and even tiny thorns. The quality of the cutting and decoration is exceptional, suggesting a high end glass maker like Hawkes, Tuthill, Pairpoint, or perhaps Webb, if the piece is English rather than American. Whatever the case, these are beautiful pieces.
Both pieces are excellent condition. There are no chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs.
The bowl measures about 4 1/2 inches in diameter and stands about 2 1/4 inches at the rim.
