Presented is a beautiful Danish silver serving spoon, dated 1909. The handle of the spoon features a finely executed design of a three petaled flower with trailing stems and leaves, with fine detailing and a very Art Nouveau/Jugendstil look, typical of the time to which the piece dates. The bowl of the spoon is a wide egg shaped style, suitable for a wide variety of serving purposes. The reverse of the terminal of the handle has a monogram of JC in ornately engraved Gothic lettering.
This piece is in excellent condition. There are no splits, no dents, no breaks, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
The spoon is stamped with the Danish mark guaranteeing a minimum of 826 purity silver, with the number 09 for the year 1909. There is also an assayer's mark for Christian F. Heise and a maker's mark E. Kaempener.
This serving spoon measures about 7 1/2 inches long.
