Presented is a wonderful American coin silver fish serving set by Albert Coles. This set dates to circa 1835-1875. The set is beautifully hand engraved throughout the surface of the fork's tines and the knife's blade. The handles have nice beaded decorations. Each piece is monogrammed 'WMTN' in a cartouche on the handle.
This set is in great overall condition. As the photo points out, the fork has an old solder repair, which is not very noticeable. There are no splits, no dents, no cracks, no monogram removals, and no other repairs.
Each piece is stamped with the maker's mark for Albert Coles of New York, NY.
The fork is about 9 3/4 inches long. The knife is about 12 1/2 inches long.
The total weight for the set is 258 grams. There is some filler in the handles, but the majority of this weight is coin silver.
