Presented is a completely handcrafted earthenware pottery jug made by French artist Jacques Pouchain during the mid 1900s. This is a classic example of his work, done in a Folk Art style. The tall pitcher has a stoneware look to it with a white glaze interior and, on the exterior, a red pattern in varying saturations in a wide band around the body and a brown glaze over an off-white clay overall.
The underside is marked L'atelier Dieulefit.
This piece is in excellent condition. There are no chips or cracks or other damages.
Diameter: Base is 5 3/4 inches. Mouth is about 4 inches diameter. Height: 10 inches.
