Presented is a very impressive antique Watson sterling silver trumpet vase, dating to around the 1910s-1930s. The vase is made in a fantastic floral form, with the rim shaped like petals and vertical fluting up the sides to continue the impression of one large trumpet form flower, particularly as seen from above. The vase has a low round foot which is weighted/filled for stability, but the majority of the weight of the piece is the sterling silver of the trumpet portion. The silver is of a very thick, heavy gauge. The vase is great for long stem bouquets, as you can see in the photos.
This piece is in excellent condition. There are no splits, no dents, no breaks, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
This piece is stamped on the underside with the Watson maker's mark as used circa 1905-1935, sterling silver, a number R26, and weighted.
The vase stands about 14 inches tall and measures about 4 7/8 inches at the base, or about 7 inches in diameter at the top.
The vase weighs 1120 grams or 39.5 regular ounces. -jm
