Presented is a fantastic set of 12 Royal Doulton dinner plates, retailed by Tiffany & Co New York circa 1901-1915. The plates are white with beautiful, intricate gilt borders around the center well, featuring raised decoration so the ornate scrollwork and floral trellis designs really stand out, despite the use of gold throughout. Around the rim are six reserves with floral decoration, again done in both flat and raised gilding for a nice textural detail, in a latticework border. The foot rim of the plates is also gilded, which is always a sign of high quality on china. These plates would make a truly unforgettable addition to any table setting.
This set is in excellent condition. The gilding is in great shape, no losses to any of the gilding on the upper sides and only the tiniest bit of wear here and there to the gilt foot rim on the underside, not visible unless you turn the plates over and inspect carefully. There are no chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs.
Each plate is signed on the underside with the Royal Doulton maker's mark as well as Tiffany & Co's retail mark.
