Presented is a fantastic quality pair of antique French Limoges porcelain owl figurines, dating to circa 1900s. The owls are done in a light blue color, with grey and white markings, on naturalistic bases. One is shown in a very upright, alert pose, with the eyebrow feathers raised, while the other is in a more defensive, fluffed up pose. The figures are a nice combination of stylized and lifelike, and the poses are very dynamic.
The owls are signed on the underside with a maker's mark of Corona, a Limoges, France maker.
This pair of figures is in good overall condition. The taller owl has a repair to one 'eyebrow' feather, and a small chip to the tip. The other eyebrow feather has a small chip to the tip as well. There are no other chips, no cracks, no other breaks or repairs to this owl. The shorter owl has a chip to one 'eyebrow' feather, a hairline across the chest, and some minor flakes to the glaze of the base. There are no other chips, no other cracks, no other breaks or repairs. Both figurines look good in person, none of these issues are super noticeable without close inspection.
