Presented is a fabulous Anton Michelsen 142 piece sterling silver flatware set. This set is made in an elegant pattern named "Classic," combining elements of both modernist and classical styles. This set is service for 12, minus two luncheon forks, two teaspoons, and 1 fish fork. In addition to the standard place setting pieces, the set has four nice serving pieces as well. The dinner and luncheon knives have sterling silver handles with stainless steel blades in the Modern style.

The set consists of:

12 dinner forks--8 inches long.

12 dinner knives--9 1/4 inches long.

12 dessert forks-5 7/8 inches long.

10 luncheon forks with 4 tines--7 3/8 inches long.

12 lunch knives--8 1/4 inches long.

11 fish forks with 3 tines--7 3/8 inches long.

12 place/oval soup spoons-- 7 1/2 inches long.

10 teaspoons--6 inches long.

12 round/gumbo soup spoons--7 1/8 inches long.

23 boullion/cream soup spoons--5 7/8 inches long.

12 butter spreaders--6 5/8 inches long.

1 large serving spoon--10 3/8 inches long.

1 double sauce/gravy ladle 7 1/2 inches long.

1 round ladle--8 inches long.

1 large serving fork-- 8 1/2 inches long.

Each piece is stamped with the maker's mark for Anton Michelsen of Copenhagen, as well as Denmark and sterling. The stainless steel knife blades are also marked with Anton Michelsen's maker's mark as well as Denmark and Raadvad/stainless.

This set is in great overall condition. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.

This set comes with an optional, free, bonus box as seen in the photographs. The box is a felt lined wooden box. The box has surface wear but is effective in protecting the set against tarnishing. This box is free, and is not considered to be part of the value of this set. If you do not want the box let us know, and we do not need to ship it.

The set weighs 4815 grams or 169.8 regular ounces, not including the knives due to their stainless steel blades and filled handles. We estimate there is at least an ounce of silver in each knife, so the total weight including the knives is about 5494 grams or 193.8 regular ounces, by our estimate.
