Immaculate Antique English Regency Silk Lined Leather Bound Wooden Gilded Box

Presented is an immaculate, antique English Regency/French Empire era red leather-bound locking box with a hinged top, sliding drawer and ornate brass accents made in England or France in the early to mid 1800's. Inside the box, including the drawer, is completely lined with colorful textured paper in multiple hues of red with green veining, and luxurious pillows of burgundy grosgrain silk. The peak of the pleated sarcophagus top has a brass medallion decorated with beading and shell-like whorls, connecting to a polished loop for lifting the cover. The brass keyhole plate, drawer pull and sculpted feet are lushly ornate as well.
Condition: The box is in pristine condition inside and out except for a toe broken off of the right rear foot, which can be replaced. The box sits flat and securely as is, however. There is a single flea bite on the top of the right side of the box, which you can see in our 5th photo. There are no rips, tears, holes, stains or leather or gilt loss. Amazing for an antique of this age!
