Huge Antique Dutch Colonial 1905 Silver Galleon Salad Serving Fork Spoon Set 13"
Presented is an antique, Dutch silver salad serving set or huge fork and spoon serving set made during the very early 1900s. This Dutch Colonial style set was made in 1905 and 1906. This is a large and very ornate set of heavy weight. The openwork handles are decorated with twisting snakes or serpents and leaves surrounding an old fisherman. The tops are cast in the form of galleons or war ships and the large spoon bowl is chased with a farm or pastoral scene.
The pieces are marked with the Dutch lion passant for minimum 833 purity silver, the Minerva head duty mark and they bear date letters V for 1905 and W for 1906.
This set is in excellent condition, especially for its age. The designs are very crisp and there are no damages and no repairs.
