Presented is an antique, solid sterling silver covered bowl or dish made by Marie Zimmermann in 1919. This old piece was completely hand crafted and is done in a classic, Art Deco form. The large lid has a very interesting finial that is comprised of a jade stone that is beautifully carved into a leaf form and a hollowed out nut or wooden ball in the center. The underside of the lid has a fabulous quality inscription that reads: To Mother and Father, Louis and Henriette Ettlinger, March 14, 1869 - 1919. This is a very large, eye-catching piece.
The underside is marked M. Zimmermann and sterling.
This piece is in excellent overall condition. There are no damages and no repairs. There may have been more embellishments to the finial at one point, but there is no way of knowing.
