Heavy Vintage Portuguese 833 Silver Drinking Dancing Pub Scene Tinket Box

Presented is a vintage, Portuguese silver box made around the early to mid 20th century. This piece is extremely heavy weight for its size! This could be used as a vanity, trinket, jewelry, pill or makeup box. The sides and lid are hand chased with highly raised and detailed decorations. The sides of the box have a band of leaves and scrolls over a stippled background. The lid depicts a very festive pub or countryside scene of a group of people dancing and playing instruments.

The underside bears the Portuguese 833 purity silver mark.

This piece is in excellent overall condition and the designs are crisp. There is a tiny bit of wiggle to the lid, but the lid is so heavy that is closes tight to the body.
