Presented is a very interesting, Swedish silver teapot made in 1909. This is a reproduction of a piece that would have been typical of the mid to late 1700s, when people would have travelling cases for their teapots, so you had to remove the handle for easier storage. The wooden side handle has a chained pin to keep it securely in place. The solid, separately cast and applied flower finial is beautiful and detailed. The top and bottom rims are designed with an acanthus leaf motif and the solid silver feet are decorative. There is no strainer on the inside of the spout and the whole interior is as clean as can be.

The lid and underside are marked with the Swedish 3 crown duty mark, a maker’s mark of the initials AK and a date mark of G7 for the year 1909. This piece is guaranteed to be at least .830 purity silver.

This piece is in virtually mint condition. There are no damages and no repairs.

The teapot measures 8 5/8 inches tall and weighs 816 grams or 28.8 ounces.
