Presented is a fantastic sterling silver stilton cheese scoop by Gorham. This piece is done in the stylish King George pattern, which began production in 1894. The scoop is nice and sturdy, made from thick heavy silver, with a nice feeling of weight in the hand. The end of the handle is monogrammed with a 'B' in Gothic script.
The scoop is in great condition. The details of the pattern are quite crisp. There are no splits, no dents, no breaks, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
The piece is hallmarked on the stem with the maker's mark for Gorham as well as sterling and a patent date of 1894.
The cheese scoop is about 8 1/2 inches long.
This piece weighs 90.8 grams or 3.2 regular ounces.
