Presented is an antique, Portuguese silver serving tray or platter made during the 19th century. This piece was made around 1870 and it is .958 purity silver, which is higher than .925 sterling silver purity. The tray is heavy weight and is raised on 3 decorative feet. The applied rim is done in a lovely, openwork acorn and oak leaf pattern and the center of the plate is hand engraved with 2 circular bands of leaf and flower designs. This piece has never been monogrammed.

The tray bears the Oporto, Portugal city mark used around 1870 for .958 purity silver as well as a maker's mark.

This piece is in great condition, especially for its age. The engravings and chased designs are crisp. There is minimal surface wear commensurate with age and very light use. There are no damages and no repairs.
