Presented is a great snakeskin top handle purse from Crouch & Fitzgerald. This piece would make a great evening event accessory! The purse has a shiny exterior that is not embossed. The softer interior is likely made from pig leather. The purse has a slip pocket on either side of the main enclosed compartment and a metal clasp which works well at holding this center compartment closed with a satisfying click. Gussets on either side allow the bag to stretch and move more freely.
This piece was produced in New York City during the early to mid 20th century. Crouch & Fitzgerald, known for their production of trunks and luggage, opened on Madison Ave in 1839 and closed sometime in the early 2000s.
The interior has an authentic brand tag which reads “Crouch & Fitzgerald / New York”.
This purse is in good condition. There is some wear to the edges, but overall only minor wear. It could be oiled to brighten up the exterior. There are no missing parts, no stains, no damages, and no repairs.
The body of the purse measures 9 1/2 inches across, by 6 1/4 inches tall, by 2 1/2 inches deep. -kc
