Presented is a great sterling silver pierced basket from the late 1800s. This piece has a beautiful square shape with a reeded and bowed handle design. The basket stands on four claw feet. This piece has a monogram in the center, probably “BBP” in flowing script.
This piece is marked sterling along with the mark for Theodore B. Starr. Starr could be the maker of this piece, but they are surely the retailer.
This piece is in excellent condition. There is practically no surface wear. There are no splits or breaks in the pierced work. The details are crisp and well-defined. There are no breaks and no repairs.
