Presented is a fantastic set of 6 American sterling silver handle dinner knives by Wallace. The knives are made in the classic Irving pattern, which began production in 1900 and features foliate scrollwork decoration on the handles. The blades are silverplated carbon steel in the Old Blunt form.
This set is in excellent overall condition. One blade has a little flake to the silver plating, but overall the silver plating of the blades is in great shape. There are no dents, no splits, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
Each knife is stamped sterling on the collar of the handle. One of the blades still has its old Wallace maker's mark visible.
The total weight for the set is 441 grams or 15.6 regular ounces. Due to the steel blades and weighted handles, not all of this weight is sterling silver.
