Presented is a great set of 5 English Georgian sterling silver coffee or 5 o'clock spoons. These spoons were made by Thomas Chawner and date to around the 1780s. The spoons have a finely hand engraved bright cut designs around the handle, with a floral design down the center. Each spoon is engraved with a crest of an armoured arm holding a plant.
The spoons are hallmarked on the stem with the lion passant for sterling silver, and a maker's mark of TC for Thomas Chawner.
This set is in great condition. The details of the engraved designs are nice and crisp. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monogram removals, and no repairs. Each spoon is about 5 1/8 inches long.
The total weight for the set is 84 grams or 2.9 regular ounces. -jm
