Presented is a fine set of 12 antique/vintage Mason's Ironstone china fruit or dessert bowls, dating to circa 1900-1940. These bowls are made in the highly sought after Flying Bird pattern, which is a vibrant and colorful Chinoiserie pattern depicting a long tailed bird in flight surrounded by stunning flowers and foliage. The palette is a very eye-catching array of blues, greens, orange, and pink shades, with fine gold gilt detailing. This pattern was originally made by Davenport starting circa 1815, but would go on to be made by Mason's Ironstone and other high end English companies as well. We have many additional pieces in this pattern from the same estate including some particularly rare examples, which you can find by searching “Flying Bird” in our store.

This set is in great overall condition. All of the bowls have some cracklature to the glaze, as we've already seen in many other Mason's Flying Bird lots/pieces from this time, but none are discolored. There are no chips, cracks, breaks, or repairs.

Each bowl is stamped on the underside with the mark for Mason's Patent Ironstone China, England.
Each bowl stands about 1 1/2 inches at the rim and measures about 6 1/2 inches in diameter. -jm
