Presented is a great set of 11 Frank Whiting sterling silver citrus spoons. These spoons are done in the lovely Oxalis pattern, which began production in 1889. As the name suggests, this pattern features a design of oxalis flowers and leaves on the handles. The bowls of the spoons have a light gold wash, protecting the spoon from the acid in citrus fruits. The bowls have a monogram of SPG in elegant, vinelike script, which looks more like a design than initials. Use these spoons for grapefruit, oranges, or whatever other fruit you like.
This set is in great condition. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no cracks, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
Each spoon is stamped with the maker's mark for Frank Whiting, as well as sterling and the patent applied for date of April 1889.
Each spoon is about 5 1/2 inches long.
