Great Pair Durgin Sterling Silver Regent Forks 7 1/8" Heavy Weight S Mono

Presented is a wonderful pair of Durgin sterling silver forks. These forks are made in the Regent pattern, which began production in 1901. These particular forks were likely made in the 1920s. Regent is a fabulous pattern with ornate scroll, fan and trellis designs on the front and back of the handles. These pieces are well made, with a nice feeling of weight and balance in the hand. Each fork has a monogram of S in Gothic script, on the front of the handle. Please note that although this listing is for two forks, we have more forksand other pieces in this pattern for sale. In our research we found no place settings or groups in this pattern, only serving pieces; this is an incredibly rare and desirable pattern with very few pieces in circulation today. If you are a collector of Regent flatware, this is an exceptional opportunity to add to your collection.

The pair is in great condition. The details of the pattern are nice and crisp. There is only the most minor of knife wear to the backs of the tines, nothing excessive or objectionable in our opinion. There are no splits, no dents, no monogram removals, and no repairs.

Each piece is stamped with the Durgin maker's mark as well as sterling and 'The Gorham Co' as these pieces were made after Durgin was acquired by Gorham in circa 1921. Each piece is also marked H on the back above the tines, for 'heavy weight.'

Each fork is about 7 1/8 inches long.
