Presented is a fabulous Gorham sterling silver 42 piece flatware set. This set is done in the elegant Hispana-Sovereign pattern, which began production in 1968. This is a regal pattern with a crown design on the terminal of the handles. This set provides service for eight, with two useful serving pieces as well.
Each piece is stamped 'sterling' and with the maker's mark for Gorham, except for the knives, which are unmarked. The knife handles are tested and guaranteed sterling silver.
This set is in great condition. There are no dents, no monograms, no monogram removals, no breaks, and no repairs.
The set weighs 1658 grams or 58.5 regular ounces, without the knives, which we leave out because of the stainless blades. We estimate that there is about 1 regular ounce of sterling silver in each of the knife handles, so we estimate the total sterling silver weight of the set to be 1885.3 grams or 66.5 regular ounces. -jm
