Presented is a large sterling silver serving spoon by Gorham. This spoon is made in the Medallion pattern, which was patented in 1864. As the name suggests, this pattern features bold designs of classical Greco-Roman profiles in medallions on the handles. This spoon has the profile of a young helmeted warrior. The spoon is monogrammed JEJ in flowing script on the back of the handle.
The spoon is in great condition. The medallion design is nice and crisp. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
The spoon is stamped with the Gorham maker's mark as well as sterling.
The spoon is 8 1/2 inches long.
The total weight for the pair is 67 grams or 2.3 regular ounces.
