Gorgeous Retro 14k Yellow Gold ~8.75ct Purple Amethyst Teardrop Gemstone Ring

Presented is a beautiful 14 karat yellow gold and amethyst ring. This piece was likely made in the United States and dates to around the 1960s, though it's difficult to say for sure without hallmarks or stamps. The ring is bezel set with a gorgeous purple amethyst in a sparkling teardrop cut, measuring about 20 by 11.4 by 8.8 millimeters, or about 8.75 carats in weight. The sides of the setting are decorated with lovely gold filigree florettes, with a fine ropetwist border around the interior.
The ring is not stamped or hallmarked, but we have tested it with nitric acid and it seems to test as 14 karat gold. We believe it to be the 14k indicated by acid testing, but are only guaranteeing it to be at least 13 karat gold purity, since it is unmarked.
This piece is in excellent condition. The amethyst is well set, with no chips. The filigree is in great shape, with no losses.
The ring is a size 4 3/4.
The head of the ring measures about 27 millimeters north to south while the band measures about 2.1 millimeters wide at the narrowest point.
