Presented is a gorgeous Victorian gold and diamond pin/brooch. This piece dates to around the 1870s-1880s. The brooch is done in the Etruscan Revival style, with a lot of ornate gold rope and foliate decorations. The center of the brooch is set with a sparkling old mine cut diamond of about a quarter of a carat (25 points). This stone is of H/I color and SI-2 or I-1 clarity. The pin has a small loop on the back where a bail could be attached, so it could be used as a pendant, or some type of drop/dangle could be added. The clasp is done in the old 'C' style.
This piece is in fabulous condition. There are no breaks, no damage, no missing pieces, and no repairs. The reverse is stamped and guaranteed 15ct/kt gold. The brooch is approximately 2 inches long.
