Presented is a wonderful Victorian 14k gold and ruby pin/brooch. This piece dates to around the 1860s-1870s. We believe this is an Italian or American made piece. This is a gorgeous pin, with beautiful wire work on the face and a raised bead design around the edge, with a matte finish throughout. The center of the pin is set with a round ruby set in a starburst shape. This pin also serves as a locket, with a removable bezel so you can put in a picture or even a small trinket, for a shadow box locket.
This piece is in good condition. The ruby has some abrasions. The pin back is a replacement.
The brooch is approximately 1 1/2 inches in diameter.
