German 1900 800 Silver Pierced Openwork Low Compote Bowl Bird & Garland Design
Regular price $384.00
Presented is an ornate antique Hanau German 800 silver compote. This piece dates to the late 1800s or early 1900s and is the work of Storck & Sinsheimer. The compote is made in a beautiful openwork form, with floral swags, classic scrollwork, and birds all interwoven and overlaid in the design. The dish stands on a short footed base, which is likewise done in a floral openwork design. The decorations are well cast and finely detailed, with a great deal of visual appeal.
The piece is stamped on the underside with the maker's mark for Storck & Sinsheimer, a Hanau German maker.
This piece is in excellent condition. The details of the designs are nice and crisp. There are no splits, no dents, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
The compote measures about 8 ½ inches in diameter and stands about 2 inches tall.
This piece weighs 298 grams or 10.5 regular ounces.
