Presented is an antique, sterling silver punch or soup serving ladle made by Whiting during the late 1800s. This piece is in the Old King pattern, which was patented in 1890 and it is old, original production. This pattern is similar in design to many King, English Kings and Queens patterns made by Gorham, Dominick & Haff, Reed & Barton, International and Tiffany. The bowl has a gold wash. This large, heavy ladle was retailed by George Wolf of Louisville Kentucky. This is a rare, 19th century Southern American piece.
The back is marked for Whiting, sterling silver purity and George Wolf.
This piece is in great overall condition for its age and the designs are crisp. There is minor surface wear to the bowl, but no damages and no repairs.
