Presented is a fabulous Towle sterling silver serving fork. This piece is made in the Old Newbury pattern, which began production in 1900. This is a stylish pattern with a beaded design around the edges of the handle and a foliate decoration on the tip. The fork has four tines, one with a notched interior edge, and an interesting asymmetrical openwork design in the center. The handle has a monogram of P in Gothic script. This is a very well made piece, with a great feeling of weight and quality in the hand.
This piece is in great condition. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
The fork is stamped 'sterling' and with the Towle maker's mark, as well as the retail mark for the Addison Bros.
The fork is about 8 3/8 inches long.
This piece weighs 94 grams or 3.3 regular ounces.
