Presented is a fabulous set of 12 antique American sterling silver demitasse spoons. These spoons are made by Towle in the Lafayette pattern, which began production in 1905. This is a very clean and classic looking pattern similar to Pointed Antique pattern but a bit elongated, with a pronounced pip to the back of the terminal of the handle. Each spoon has a B monogram in Gothic lettering, engraved with a degree of skill and visual appeal that would be very hard to find today, so if B is your monogram this is an excellent opportunity.
Each spoon is stamped with the maker's mark for Towle as well as sterling 925/1000, and a little fleur de lis and eagle that were only used on this pattern of Towle flatware.
This set is in excellent overall condition. Three of the spoons have very minor bends to the shafts, but are entirely useable. There are no splits, no dents, no breaks, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
Each spoon measures about 4 3/8 inches long.
The total weight for the set is 102.5 grams or 3.6 regular ounces. -jm
