Presented is a wonderful set of 12 sterling silver handles knives by Lunt. These knives are done in the attractive American Victorian pattern, which began production in 1941. Eight of the knives have Modern style blades, while the remaining four have New French style. There is a blank cartouche on the end of each handle, perfect for a monogram of your choice. This is a fantastic quality set, which doesn't appear to have seen much use.
Eight of the knives are hallmarked on the blade with the maker's mark for Lunt as well as 'sterling handle' and 'stainless blade'. The remaining four are hallmarked on the handle with the maker's mark for Lunt as well as 'sterling handle', with 'stainless' on the blades.
The knives are in excellent overall condition. The details of the pattern are quite crisp. The blades are in great shape, and there are no separations between the handles and the blades. There are no splits, no dents, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
Each knife is about 9 inches long.
The knives weigh 837 grams. Considering the stainless steel blades and the filled handles, not all of this weight is sterling silver.
