Presented is an excellent Reed & Barton sterling silver oval dish or bread tray. This piece is made in the Francis I pattern, which began production in 1950. This pattern features a motif of rich clusters of fruit and berries, surrounded by leaves and scrolls. This motif appears at four points around the edge of the bowl, with a heavy scroll design around the rim in between. The center of the bowl has never been monogrammed, and is polished to a bright mirror shine.
This piece is in excellent condition. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
The underside of the piece is stamped 'sterling' and with the maker's mark for Reed & Barton as well as the name of the pattern and the number X568.
The bowl measures about 12 by 7 1/2 by 1 3/4 inches, LxWxH.
The dish weighs 444 grams or 15.7 regular ounces. -jm
