Presented is a handsome 14K white gold pocket watch made by Waltham. The gold case is decorated with a beautiful combination of machine turnings and hand engravings. The back of the case has a diamond shaped cartouche framed in scrolls and leaves that has never been monogrammed or engraved. The white enameled dial has black numerals for the chapters and a sunken subsidiary seconds dial at the six o’clock position. The watch has an old mechanical movement. It is running well and keeping excellent time.
The dial is marked Waltham U.S.A. The movement is marked with A.W.W.Co. Waltham, Mass. The serial number on the movement indicates a date of production around 1917. The case is marked 14K. We have tested the case with nitric acid and guarantee it to be 14K gold.
There are a few hairlines in the enameled dial as you can see in the first two photographs, but this is minor. Originally, there was a hinge on the side of the dial, but this is no longer working. You could cut the pin on the side
and remove the hinge completely if you wanted to, but there is really no need to. The movement fits into place very well, and the hinged outer case snaps very tightly shut, so everything still closes securely and is in no danger of
coming out. Otherwise, the condition is excellent. The watch winds well and is keeping accurate time. There are no chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs.
The case is 1 3/4 inches wide.
