Presented is a very fine quality 18K gold amethyst ring. The amethyst is cut into a wide tear drop shape and has beautiful color. The stone is set into a cupped tear-drop setting. Both the setting and the band have an interesting hand- hammered finish. The stone measures about 13.1 millimeters long and 10.9 millimeters wide. We are unable to measure the depth, because the back of the ring is closed. The ring has two guard beads on the inside.
The ring is marked 18K on the inside of the band. We have tested it with nitric acid and guarantee it to be 18K gold.
The condition is excellent. The stone is in great shape and securely set. The setting is also in really great condition. There are no breaks, no cracks, no splits, no dents, no chips and no repairs.
The ring measures a size four with the guard beads, and it can comfortably fit a 5 3/4 finger that has a little more flesh than bone. Without the guard beads, the ring may be a size 6 1/4, possibly larger.
The ring weighs 3.5 grams.
