Regular price
$374.00
Presented is a fine pair of English Georgian sterling silver table, large soup, or serving spoons. These spoons date to 1768. The spoons are done in a classic Hanoverian design, with distinctively upward turned handles and a pronounced drop to the back of the bowl. The back of each handle has a finely engraved crest of a deer or elk beside a sapling.
Each spoon is hallmarked on the stem with the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head crowned for the city of London, the date letter N for 1768, and a maker's mark that looks like TD.
These spoons are in great condition. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
Each spoon is about 8 1/4 inches long.
The total weight for the pair is 151.4 grams or 5.3 regular ounces. -jm
