Fine Mid 1800s English Staffordshire Courting Couple w Dog Figurine Spill Vase
Regular price
$78.00
Presented is a lovely old Staffordshire figural spill vase, dating to the mid 1800s. The figurine depicts a courting couple in front of a tree that forms the vase portion. The figures are dressed colorfully, and the woman is holding a bouquet, while the man has a spaniel dog standing with its forepaws on his knee, like it's begging. The figurine is quite charming overall, and would be a nice addition to any collection, with or without flowers in the vase.
This piece is in excellent overall condition, particularly for its age and material. The sprays of flowers are in great shape and look to be all intact. There are a couple of tiny spots of loss to the paint in a couple of spot, but nothing excessive. The piece has some cracklature throughout, but no discoloration. There are no chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs.
The figurine stands about 7 1/2 inches tall and measures about 4 7/8 by 2 3/4 inches.
