Presented is a vintage, 14 karat gold and shell cameo. This old piece is finely
hand carved with the profile of a beautiful woman with combs in her hair. The
natural coloring of the shell is wonderful. The setting has a hinged bale or
loop at the top to hang the cameo as a pendant. The clasp has a safety latch for
added security.
guaranteed to be 14 karat gold purity. The cameo was probably carved in the
first half of the 1900s. The gold frame is more recent.
This piece is in excellent overall condition for its age. The back has been
reinforced and it appears that the cameo has been reglued on the back. The cameo
is very secure in the gold setting. There are no missing pieces, no dents, no
breaks and no chips.
The cameo measures 2 by 2 1/2 inches and weighs 26.5 grams. About half of
this weight is gold.
