Presented is a nice 18 karat gold brooch in the form of two running horses. This
is a modern piece of jewelry, of Italian make. The bodies of the horses are done
in yellow gold with a fine Florentine finish, appropriately reminiscent of fur.
The horses' manes are done in white gold and set with diamonds. There are 12
total diamonds, all single cuts, of about 12 points total in weight. Overall
it's an excellent piece of jewelry, well made and with loving attention to
detail, very nicely proportioned. The back of the pin has a butterfly style
safety clasp.
The pin is in great condition. The details are crisp. The clasp and safety
function well and close securely. There are no missing stones, no breaks, and no
repairs.
The back of the pin is stamped with Italian hallmarks, one reading '750' for
18 karat gold and one maker's mark which we do not recognize.
The pin is approximately 2 1/8 inches long.
This piece weighs 11.6 grams.
