Fine Hand Hammered Italian 800 Solid Silver 4pc Tea Service c1920

This is a beautifully designed and hand crafted silver tea service. Includes a coffee pot, teapot, milk or cream pitcher, and covered sugar bowl. From a good quality continental European maker. Probably Italian in origin, but possibly Swiss or German. Made between 1910 and 1930. Classic lobed form, raised on a lobed pedestal. Softly domed and fluted covers. Topped with matching lobed finial. Completely hand hammered with exceptional craftsmanship. The hand hammer marks are visible over the entirety of every piece, just fabulous, meticulous hand craftsmanship Sturdy, carved wood handles in scroll form, typical of classic Italian work. Elegant gold wash on the interior of the cream pitcher and sugar bowl. Never monogrammed. The sterling silver tea service is very generously sized and has a thick, heavy gauge silver construction. The entire four piece set weighs 101 ounces. This is more than twice as much as some 4 piece tea sets. The coffee pot is 9 1/2 inches tall, 9 1/2 inches from handle to spout. Weighs 34 ounces. The teapot is 9 inches tall, 11 1/2 inches from handle to spout. Weighs 33 ounces. The creamer is 6 3/4 inches tall, 8 inches handle to spout. Weighs 16 ounces. The sugar is 6 1/2 inches tall, 7 1/2 inches handle to handle. Weighs 18 ounces. Excellent condition. Rich, lustrous silver patina throughout. Pristine inside and ready to use. Handles are extremely secure. The coffee pot had some crimping on the base which was repaired and soldered. This is very minor and difficult to notice. The coffee pot is still structurally sound and holds liquids without leaking. The repair was not even to the part that holds the liquid, but the pedestal base underneath. Hallmarked to the base with 800 for the silver purity. This set has been tested and is guaranteed to be 800 purity silver.
