Fantastic Victorian 18k Yellow Gold Blue Red Floral Enamel Locket Pendant

Presented is a fantastic quality Victorian 18 karat yellow gold and enamel
locket. This piece dates to circa 1870-1910 and is of American make. The locket
features fabulous, colorful enamel on both sides, one side with blue flowers and
the other with red, all against a white background with various other colors of
enamel for the leaves and other accents. The quality of the enamel work is
exceptional, like fine cloisonne work with intricate wire inlay. The locket
itself is beautifully hand engraved around the sides with foliate scrollwork.
Both sides of the locket inside can take a photo, one side has a removable bezel
so a locket of hair or a photo you want to protect could be placed underneath
it. The locket is currently on a short length of interestingly made chain, but
could easily be given a more typical bail/loop for wear with whatever chain you
like, by your local jeweler.
