Presented is a fabulous large bronze ink well or desk tray from Tiffany Studios. This piece is in the classic Zodiac pattern, and it is the largest one we have ever seen in this pattern (be sure to check the measurements below). I have owned about 30 Zodiac inkwells over the years and seen many hundreds more. This is by far the largest I have ever seen.It is really an impressive size.
The desk tray displays a pyramidal form with alternating panels of Zodiac on the well and on the molded segmented tray base. The inkwell has a lid which opens to reveal the glass ink vessel. The glass is not original to the piece but fits well inside.
The underside is marked with Tiffany Studios New York along with a product number.
The piece is in great overall condition. This desk tray has a fabulous patina, which is in great shape. All the original screws are still in place on the underside. There is no felt on the bottom, but could easily be added. There are no breaks and no repairs.
Measurements: 9 3/4 inches by 10 3/4 inches and 3 3/4 inches tall.
